Privacy policy

What we collect

If you create an account, we store your email and account details needed to sign you in. When you run a decode, conversation text is sent to our servers and processed in real time to produce your read. Decode results are saved to your private memory only if you choose to keep them, and you can delete any read or person at any time.

What we don't do

• We don't sell your personal data.
• We don't use your conversations to train public machine learning models.
• We don't share your decode results with other users or third parties except as described here.
• We don't retain unsaved conversations as permanent records beyond what's needed to complete the request.

Third-party services

Processing uses OpenAI's API. Payments go through Stripe. The app is hosted on Vercel (or your current host). Transactional email may use Resend. Product analytics may use PostHog. Anonymous abuse protection may use Cloudflare Turnstile. Each provider has its own privacy practices governing data they process on our behalf.

Retention and storage

Saved reads, people you tag, and account data live in our database until you delete them or delete your account. We do not keep a separate marketing profile built from message contents. Database hosting uses industry-standard encryption at rest and TLS in transit (via our hosting providers).

International users

ColdRead is operated from the United States. If you use the service from outside the US, your information may be processed in the US or other regions where our subprocessors operate. Contact support for data access or deletion requests.

Your choices

You can delete saved reads and manage account data from Settings where available. For data requests or deletion, contact support using the email above.
